Good Information

Small businesses all around the world require certain information to sustain the business and to increase their profits. Businesses look for reliable information for example the footfall report, in "Ollie Sports" this report uses the information on how many customers enter my store. I can give the primary information to the marketing to promote the store to increase the customer popularity. Businesses will take all of this data and turn it into information which they will then use to their own advantage. Lets take a business such as "Dominoes", they need data from there customers to see which stores needs particular amount of stock. What I mean by this is, if 'Fareham' Dominoes made more pepperoni orders than chicken, they will stock more pepperoni then chicken, now if 'Gosport' Dominoes had more orders with chicken then they will stock more chicken.

All of the orders are monitored by using operation information such as, weekly sales report. They can use this to strategically and gain competitive advantage, for example management will manipulate information and see which store is under performing, then pass the information to the marketing department who will be able to advertise the products that are underperforming. Dominoes always like to try a new combination of flavors and designs, this shows that the company are open to suggestions and purposely looking for feedback onto how to make the food better, once again this is primary data.

Smaller businesses may not have the power to ask millions and millions of followers what they like or what they dislike. Small businesses will have to rely on advertising to get there points across, if people like the points then they can call up or buy the product, this shows interest, now if it did not go as planned and no one was interested then they will have to think of an alternative way. With all this research and ways of getting their company out there, its going to become expensive, small companies need to be smart with there money and make smart decisions, they need to be at least 90% sure on there final decision. Companies need to make more money than they do when they promoting, otherwise they wont make a profit.

What will the company need on there websites to help promote and sell them selves? The websites require to have images and videos to show the buyers what they are looking at, the more evidence you have for the product the more the buyer will understand what they are getting. They must have different pages to suit each need, a page for purchasing and contact, a page for media/images, a pages that explains what all this is and how it came from point a to point b, these pages are just example of what could be on a professional companies websites.

When a company is rising up, everything in terms of money becomes a very delicate task. Being cost-effective is very important at any stage during your business, but if you not careful at the beginning, your company may crash before you even get started. Cost effective is where you use your money wisely and for correct reasons, with plenty of though before going ahead, you want to make sure that what you are paying for is going to make you a profit in the long run.

Make sure all of your information is relevant, reliable and accurate. If your information is none of these you business may end up crashing, or being something which you didn't plan, for example if "Dominoes" was getting orders and user feedback from a company like "Game", then somewhere the information/links have gotten mixed up, this makes it unreliable and not relevant. You want to make sure that all your incoming information is thoroughly checked for any issues that could get you mixed up with the wrong business. The more important information will be the information you give back to the public, so making sure this is accurate is key, you cant tell them that a pizza = 100 calories when in reality its 1000, even if it was a type, as a business, this is unacceptable. Once that information has been edited so its readable by the public, you must make sure its the correct level of detail for your chosen audience. A pizza company will need to keep it simple because its aiming at all age ranges at any mental ability, whereas something like Nova-tech you will need some understanding of the terminology used, it will always vary depending on the job and the audience.
